Tips for taking care of woollen clothes


In winter woollen clothes are the one thing which bring relief on every face but it is difficult to take care of them as these clothes need some extra care so we have to treat them well otherwise we have to buy them new in every winter.

If we take good care of our woollen clothes than these can be last long. Here are some simple tips which you can use to take care of your woolen clothes.

General tips

1.Always brush your woollen clothes after every use so that dust will not stick on them.

2.Always hang the woollen clothes in padded hangers and make sure that all the buttons and zippers of the clothes are always shut.

3.You can also put the woollen clothes in dryer bags after folding them carefully. Before putting the clothes always remove each and every thing from the pockets of your sweaters or jackets like money, accessories, jewellery etc.

4.If the clothes are wet than always dry them at room temperature, do not use heaters or sun light to make them dry.

5.If you want to put the clothes for long time than always wash them before so that they will not get worms.

6.Always put the dry neem leaves, phenyl balls in the box or almirahs where you are putting your clothes for the next use.

Precautions while washing the woollen clothes

1.Use lukewarm water while washing the woollen clothes.

2.Use mild soap like ezee, gentle liquid detergent or any other mild liquid which do not have too much chemicals. These soaps will minimize the risk of any damage to your clothes and also prevent the fading of colors.

3.Soak the clothes in detergent for 4-5 minutes than rub them with soft hands (do not use brush or wash them in washing machine) than rinse the clothes in plain water so that the detergent will remove completely from them.

4.Press the clothes in-between the soft towels to remove water do not squeeze them.

5.Do not hang the woolen clothes in hangers to make them dry always lay them straight on anything like newspaper, folding bed etc.

Precautions while Ironing the woollen clothes

1.Use steam iron always and keep it on the woollen setting.

2.Do not iron the clothes to make them dry.

3.If it possible than iron the clothes from the reverse side (inner side). Always put the cotton cloth over the woolen cloth if you want to iron the front side.

4.Do not rub the iron allover the clothes hardly just give it a gentle press.

These little tips can increase the life of your clothes so use them and see the difference.
